Although the museum depositories are not accessible to the public, this exhibition will make it possible to peek in. For a short time, our sleeping beauties will be the object of interest and admiration from museum visitors.

The National Technical Museum collection currently contains 127 automobiles and automobile chassis, and 135 motorcycles. Only a small part is on display in the museum; the rest is placed in depositories.
The primary task of museums is to systematically protect and keep collections for future generations. Although also important, the exhibition’s presentation of these objects is only secondary.
To preserve the real picture of history, museums have to collect ordinary objects, which are often less attractive and uninteresting. These have an important documentary role and are a source for further studies; however, their placement on display is no longer taken into account. The National Technical Museum collections also include such automobiles and motorcycles.
Nevertheless, the museum depositories comprise a considerable number of vehicles that are attractive and interesting but have never been displayed or were only witnessed by aged contemporaries because of limited space in the transport exposition of the National Technical Museum.
Although the museum depositories are not accessible to the public, this exhibition will make it possible to peek in. For a short time, our sleeping beauties will be the object of interest and admiration from museum visitors.
