Railway museum

The Government of the Czech Republic adopted Resolution No. 1147 on November 15, 2000, regarding the establishment of the Railway Museum as a department of the National Technical Museum (NTM). This act created the NTM Railway Museum, but the railway collection of the museum has been built since its inception. The main task of the NTM Railway Museum is to document the history of railways in our territory, professionally process and preserve the related documents, and present them to the widest possible public. For this reason, the National Technical Museum was entrusted with the premises of the former locomotive depot at Masaryk Station in Prague, where we are preparing the main exhibition spaces for the NTM Railway Museum. Special thanks go to all individuals and organizations that assist us in caring for the cultural heritage of our railways. Without their support, it would not be possible to maintain and expand one of the most valuable railway collections in Europe for our shared enjoyment.
