Transportation Design

This collection of approximately 100 items contains unique design proposals for vehicles, primarily automobiles from the 1950s to the 1990s.

The oldest complete set consists of Zdeněk Kovář’s designs for Tatra Kopřivnice from the 1950s. These include the final model of the Tatra T 603 passenger car, steering wheel models for the T 137/138 truck, and a tanker trailer designed for the same vehicle. Also connected to the Tatra brand are models from the "Prague development" team from the late 1950s and early 1960s, associated with the work of Otakar Diblík.

Particularly attractive exhibits include three works by designer Václav Král from the late 1980s and early 1990s, as well as models from the design studio of Škoda Auto and remarkable student projects from recent years.

The largest exhibit in the collection is an unrestored T3 tram.

This collection is closely related to the subgroups of Agricultural Machinery and Construction and Handling Equipment. A significant collection consists of models of Desta forklifts, road rollers, and other machines from the 1960s and 1970s, designed by Štefan Malatinec. Additionally, it includes a portion of the extensive works of Petr Tučný, who designed construction and earthmoving machinery for domestic manufacturers, including the first Czechoslovak hydraulic excavator.
